• 2/26: We tested our culinary and art skills today by making animals and a variety of designs from hot dogs!
• 3/05: In spirit of Hina-Ningyo, we made dolls out of construction paper, badminton birdies and much more! (Don’t forget to thank our activities coordinator, Teresa, for thinking up such creative ways to emulate the dolls!)
• 3/12: For White Day, we played musical chairs to different genres of Japanese music for chocolate!

02. Powerpoints

• There wasn’t a powerpoint for 2/26, but the 3/05 & 3/12one is now uploaded.

• 2/5: We tested out our dexterity/adroitness (SAT word 8D) in a chopsticks activity! We had to move various really small objects ONE BY ONE from one container to the next.
• 2/12: In the loving spirit of Valentine’s Day, we had a chocolate exchange that also doubled as a second semester ice breaker (we’re so efficient oh ho ho ho just kidding. ;D) to welcome our new members for this semester! We also continued our sudoku challenge with sudoku #2 be sure to complete it for a prize!

03. Upcoming Activities

• 2/26: Hot dog cutting – we will be making animals/shapes/flowers/stuff/objects/etc. out of hot dogs!
• 3/5: Hina-ningyo – we will be making dolls for the doll festival!

04. Notes/Reminders

• For the new members please remember to bring $5 to our next meeting!
• If you’re vegetarian, or basically cannot eat the hot dogs in our next activity, please notify the officers! We’ll arrange another food activity (if there’s one you liked from the past tell us!) for you to participate in so you won’t be left out!

• 1/22: As this month’s delectable theme was food, our activity was making simple, yet delicious Inari Sushi! (No powerpoint this week!)
• 1/29: Taking a break from our fun food fest, our activity was creating Oni masks  in the spirit of the upcoming holiday, Setsubun (2/3/10). Powerpoint is posted for this!

• Club activity:  We made yummy Onigiri (rice balls) and sushi in our last  meeting! Hopefully you guys all enjoyed this activity, because next week we will be doing something similar~ :D (Leave us some feed back please!)
• There’s no powerpoint for this meeting since we needed as much time as possible for our delicious activity!

• December 11th : For our club activity, we made Christmas Bows out of paper. As we had technical difficulties, we were unable to actually use the powerpoint images. Check out the December 11th powerpoint to see the visual instructions if you want to try the bows out again!
• January 8th: For our club activity, we tested out our math and logic skills with sudokus!

02. Social!

• Our social was on 12/29/09, and due to what seems to be scheduling conflicts, we didn’t have a lot of attendees. >: We’ll make sure to keep your schedules in mind for the next social! Please don’t be afraid to tell us if a better time will work out for you!

• We made calligraphy stamps today of our own signatures, then printed them on a poster board. If you didn’t attend today’s meeting, I’m sure we can add you on to our ’09-’10 Japanese Club member’s signature poster!

02. Mochitsuki Activity… In Detail!

• The event will take place on 12.05.09
• You will be making, pounding, packaging, and cleaning up mochi
• Three shifts: 7 am – 10 am, 10 am – 1 pm, 1 pm – 3 pm
• There’s 6 people per shift
• Sign up in the club room or email one of the officers
